This week was the Imagination Parade at school. Last year we all dressed in rainbow colors, and watched as our boy arrived at the parade riding in the little red cart for the very first time.
Seeing pictures like this of that tiny baby makes my heart hurt just a little.
This year we were all dressed in black because our class was going to be spiders. The one thing Daddy is afraid of. Grandma and Grandpa came up, and made sure that they dressed to support our favorite boy.
The parade started with the snails, but see if you can spot the one leading the way for the spiders?
He held hands, and marched proudly – and even when he saw his family, he smiled and waved – but stayed with his class. I was so proud.
Not everyone enjoyed the parade as much.
But Mommy came to rescue this poor little snail.
Harper was her usual vision of loveliness, and the couple were even gracious enough to pose for a few pictures after the parade.

And then Uncle Joel took a few pictures of all of us. Grandma looks like she might be wearing a halo. That seems about right to me.
There was a ‘family fun fest’ after the parade, but first we needed to pass Darth Vader.
Then we could get onto the fun.
Grandma and Grandpa came up and stayed at our house for a few days, and spoiled us in the ways they always do. It was a fun start to the season. Which always means I took way too many pictures. Daddy took a few videos too, but I don’t think he has had time to upload them. Soon, Grandma…. soon.
