Brett is especially sweet with Brendan. Last night, there was a baby giraffe stuffed animal that Brendan couldn’t stop cuddling. Because we have many stuffed animals, Rob and I decided to put the little giraffe back with his friends. Brett was very concerned about this, and said to me several times that we should have gotten it for Brendan. We saw a store that had them today, and Brett and I snuck off so he could buy one for Brendan. Brett gave it to him, Brendan cuddled. But the sweetest part came later when Brendan was getting a little sleepy and grouchy – Brett reached back into the stroller and pulled out the stuffed animal, carefully made sure the baby blanket was wrapped just the right way, and then presented it to Brendan. Those little acts of genuine kindness from little people just slay me.
We are now closer to the end of vacation than to the start. That’s never a good feeling. Rob and I are thinking we need another week off when we get home. (only rob is afraid i’ll make him do chores)
Just me, looking at vacation pictures instead of board work. So glad he loves so easily and well. He gets that from careful nurture, as well as nature!
