Brendan and I went to Peets to get a coffee yesterday morning and we got a lot of attention. One guy came up and talked to us about his two daughters who are now 8 and 10 – and that he actually viscerally misses who they were at each stage of their life. He confirmed that it just keeps changing in new and exciting ways, but pleaded with me to enjoy every single second. Then another lady came along and was talking to us about how her only daughter is about to start trying to have a baby, and how excited she is. Then she came back a few minutes laster and told us were were too cute and too in love and she needed to take our picture so did I have a camera. I didn’t (Bad Mommy!) but I did have my phone with me. Hence this picture with me not showered, but clearly loving my baby:

After my coffee/Bren’s bottle, we headed into the mall. So much fun. Way more than I ever thought it would be. We poked around in stores and tried a few things on in the dressing room together. A couple times he got fussy and I picked him up and carried him in one arm while pushing the stroller with the other arm. Turns out those were my very favorite moments. After our fun at the mall, we stopped by the grocery store to get cheese and apples and bread and all kinds of yummy things for our car picnic on the loooong drive to the IAC. I loved our day.
