9 Month Check-up

On Friday we went in for Brendan’s nine month doctor appointment. The doctor gave him a good once over and proclaimed him a healthy and happy little boy. She told us that at this point he can have any food other than nuts or honey – and we don’t have to blend it up. We can just give him little pieces of whatever we are eating. That is so crazy, and he’s not going to like it (he prefers smooth food right now) but we’ll keep trying. She also said it was a good idea to sneak some green foods in mixed with something sweet that we know he likes (YOU HEAR THAT GRANDMA??!?! No more calling to tell us we’re torturing your Grandson!). We also have his new stats to share:

  • Weight is 20 lbs 2 ounces, putting him at the 59.3 percentile
  • Height is 29.5 inches, putting him at the 90.5 percentile (he’s catching up to what we expected him to be, Meredith!!)
  • Head is progressing nicely at 17.75 inches, putting him at the 53 percentile

Brendan also showed off all his new new tricks including being interested in EVERYTHING (the fish mural, the stethoscope, the pen she used to write down the sunscreen we should use….), using his army crawl to go after the stethoscope, waving, and clapping – which he did at the very appropriate time of learning that there would be no shots at this appointment.  Hooray!
