The night before Christmas

This may alarm some of you, but tonight is Christmas Eve. At least in our house.
Rob and I travel to both of our family houses during the holidays, and we get to celebrate Christmas with each family. But partially out of necessity (we have enough to pack already…) and partially because we’re suckers for a celebration, we have always had our own Christmas morning in our own home the weekend before we travel.

It always feels real. If I have to run out to pick up a fancy cheese or something tomorrow afternoon, I can almost guarantee that my mind will wonder why so many people are out and about on Christmas. So tonight is our first Christmas Eve with Brendan. He had a little harder time than usual getting to sleep – but that is to be expected on Christmas Eve. Although he has never had a sugarplum, there could very well be visions of carrots dancing in his head.
