Day twelve was full of excitement! Not only was it the fourth of July Independence Day (sorry, Rob has insisted that we call it Independence Day from now on), but we also got to make a trip to Eldora! All of this, of course, meant festive outfits for the entire family (I can only hope that Camp Casler put a festive collar on Chelsea!). We have enjoyed each of our visits to Eldora, but this one was extra special because we got to be there when Meredith got a big surprise… A NEW PUPPY! This is one cute little guy. He’s a Goldendoodle – but looks more like a teddy bear. He is so floppy and sweet and with both he and Brendan in the same room, it was almost more cuteness than a person could handle. There were other treats too – Meredith had made brownies, and some good friends of theirs brought over homemade vanilla ice cream.
Homemade Brownies + Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream = Heaven.
It felt just how a Fourth of July should.
During our visit, we learned that the farmhouse from the movie Twister was near by, and these awesome ice cream providing friends drove us over to see it! It was a beautiful house, but my favorite part was being in the middle of cornfields as far as the eye could see, and watching a tractor drive by. Later that evening we ate burritos and played with sparklers (you can buy them at TARGET here!!! sparklers, not burritos…). What a great day. I hope Brendan remembers it.
