Day 8

I guess when you’re a baby, every day is full of exciting firsts! Today Brendan and I took our first selfie, he tried two new bottles, helped me do a puzzle, had his first photos posted on facebook, wore his first Star Wars outfit – and as we were changing his last diaper of the day, most of his umbilical cord fell off! Hooray! One thing we did today that was not a first was trim tiny fingernails – three times in 8 days! So nerve wracking… but no accidents so far! He just gets sweeter and more perfect every day.  The weather here was so hot and humid – with wind!  I walked outside and it was like a heater blowing right in my face.  There is a heat advisory for the next two days.  Not what this California girl is used to!
