I just spent at least 10 minutes trying to figure out whether Brendan is five or six days old… does Wednesday (the day he was born) count as day one? Or is Thursday day one? He was born in the afternoon, does that change things?
I guess you could say I’m having some new mom fog.
When I called to make his two week doctor appointment I told them that two weeks from his birth would be June 6th. She asked when he was born and I couldn’t come up with the right date… then finally I tried to work backward from my proclaimed June 6th appointment date and told her May 22. Rob was cracking up. I finally got it worked out, and promised the nurse that I was doing much better with feeding/diapering/loving the baby than I was with other brain functions. She just laughed and said, ‘Okay, Mom’.
